Surfacing veils strengthen the resin-rich surface of composite parts, creating a strong bond with the underlying laminate and enhancing surface appearance by masking the reinforcing fibre pattern. This reduction in pattern print-through ensures  an optical smooth surface prior to painting. This technique was first used on the 2007 DBS, the first production Aston Martin with carbonfibre composite body panels

This term refers to a short run of cars built in a limited and numbered series. Such cars include the V12 Vanquish Ultimate Edition, DB7 Zagato and the DBS UB2010.

Berlinetta

A body style usually a sporty 2 seater or 2+2 seater coupe, although the literal translation from the Italian is ‘little saloon’. A great example of the berlinetta coachwork on an Aston Martin is the DB2/4 Berlinetta by Bertone.

Barchetta

Barchetta

A style of coachwork, usually a small open 2 seater sports car with minimal adornments. Barchetta is Italian for ‘little boat’. Some Aston Martins are described as ‘Barchetta’, although non fits the term better than the DB2/4 Spider by Bertone

Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance

The most prestigious Concours d’Elegance in the world. It is held during August each year as the finale of Monterey Car Week. Aston Martin have been a featured marque on many occasions, most recently 2007 and 2013.

Carrozzeria Ghia

Carrozzeria Ghia

A famous Italian Carrozzeria and car design company. Responsible for the Ghia Supersonic, of which one was built on an Aston Martin chassis and also the wonderful 1990’s Lagonda Vignale. In 1970, Ghia became part of the Ford Motor Company, the name was used to denote the highest trim level in many Ford cars from the 1970’s right through till the new millennium.

Carrozzeria Allemano

Carrozzeria Allemano was a Turin based coach builder. Owned by Italian, Serafino Allemano, the company was established in 1928 but closed in 1965. The company are credited with the unique DB2/4 Allemano Coupe.
