In early 2010, AM began to offer the Premium Sports Pack as an option on the DB9 coupe and for the first time on the DB9 Volante too. Premium Sports Pack involved the fitting of the Adaptive Damping System as had been introduced on the DBS. 

From July 2006, Aston Martin began offering DB9 coupe customers an optional Sports Pack. Essentially, the car featured a new lighter 5 spoke wheel design and revised suspension to make the DB9 even sharper handling. In early 2010, AM began to offer the Premium Sports Pack as an option on the coupe and for the first time on the Volante. The Touchtronic III is the name given by Aston Martin for the 8HP70 eight speed automatic transmission made by the German company, ZF Friedrichshafen. It is fitted to 2015MY 310 Vanquish and Rapide S models.

The company of Carrozzeria Vignale started in 1948 and made coachwork for the likes of Ferrari, Maserati and Lancia often to the designs of Giovanni Michelotti. Vignale also created a pair of unique coach built DB2/4’s in the mid 1950’s. Later the company was acquired by Ford who then used the name on the 1993 Lagonda Vignale.

AMSHIFT is a system, first fitted to the 2017MY manual V12 Vantage S, which is driver selectable uses clutch, gear position and propshaft sensors, together with finely-tuned programming of the engine management, to mimic the technique of heel-and-toe downshifts; the act of blipping the throttle while braking and changing gear. AMSHIFT also offers the capability of full-throttle upshifts for maximum smoothness and minimal interruption in acceleration.

The AMi II infotainment system is an improvement from the AMi system of the 2013MY Vanquish and made standard across the whole AM range with the introduction of the 2016MY. It is characterised by high quality switchgear with haptic feedback, Bluetooth as standard, text message integration and a wide range of connectivity options. Instantly responsive graphical displays are integrated with the car’s dynamic performance.

RML Group is a motorsports and high performance engineering company, based in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, United Kingdom. Ray Mallock helped to develop the Viscount Downe Aston Martin Nimrod and went on to develop the AMR1. RML have more recently developed race versions of the DB7 i6 and DB7 V12 Vantage.

The de Dion tube is a type of car suspension used on the Lagonda Rapide and all AM V8 models. It is a sophisticated form of non-independent suspension and uses universal joints at both the wheel hubs and differential, and uses a solid tubular beam to hold the opposite wheels in parallel although is not directly connected to the chassis.
