In 2017,  the then AML CEO, Dr Palmer said that he always wanted to see a manual (stick shift) Aston Martin in the range. After a year or so without a 'stick', the manual made a triumphant return in the Vantage AMR. The first 59 examples of the AMR were build to a unique '59' specification. Why '59'? - dead easy. Aston Martin had it's first (and so far only) overall victory at Le Mans in 1959.

The standard colour scheme for the ’59’ cars was as you might expect, signature AMR Stirling Green with front to back AML Lime Green stripe.
