The AM V8 was the stalwart of the Aston Martin range from 1972 through to 1989. No other Aston Martin model has remained in production for so long. The page featuring the final iteration of the model, the rare AM V8 efi saloon has been revised with new photographs.
The page featuring the popular AM V8 built between 1973 and 1978 has been updated today with many new and previously unseen photographs. For some time, the AM V8 was an ‘entry level’ Aston Martin, interest in these cars is increasing quickly especially as they remain attractively priced against the 1960’s DB’s.
Back it 2003, AML showed us the future of the marque. The AMV8 Vantage was unveiled to the world at the Detroit Motor Show and as we all know, went on to be developed into the popular V8 Vantage which is still in production today. What many people are still unaware of is that the concept was actually built in India by a specialist company based on a 1999 DB7 Vantage Volante compete with V12 engine. We had no idea that the AMV8 Vantage was actually the first V12 Vantage. I have just scanned my negatives from 2003, many of the images have not been seen before.
Built 25 years ago but only now has this unique car the V8 Long Wheelbase saloon been seen in public. Now at long last, I can add it to this site.
