The page featuring the popular AM V8 built between 1973 and 1978 has been updated today with many new and previously unseen photographs. For some time, the AM V8 was an ‘entry level’ Aston Martin, interest in these cars is increasing quickly especially as they remain attractively priced against the 1960’s DB’s.

The original V8 Vantage from 1977/8 are much revered by marque enthusiasts. Only available to good customers, built in a special area, lighter, purer and possibly faster, the bolt-on and flip-tail cars feature in a much revised page today.

V8 Vantage prototype from 1977

A new page featuring the prototype V8 Vantage has been added today with previously unpublished images of this important car in history of the marque. The V8 Vantage was not only the first Aston Martin supercar, but the first British supercar, built to take on the Ferrari 512BB, Lamborghini Countach and Porsche 911 Turbo. Unlike most of the others, it could carry 4 passengers to a speed of 170 mph and accelerate from a standstill to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds.

RHAM/1 – The Muncher – loads of new images

In 1977, this ageing DBSV8 defied all the odds to compete and finish the greatest endurance racing event, the 24 hours of Le Mans. RHAM/1 was built by Robin Hamilton, a midlands Aston Martin dealer, who went on to develop the 1980’s Nimrod. I have added loads of new images of RHAM/1 today.
