Glossary of Aston Martin Terms

If you’re new the the fascinating world of Aston Martins, this this glossary may help you. Words like ‘superleggera’ ‘kamm tail’ and ‘cosmetic’ often cause confusion so this section is here to demystify things a little. I have tried to include as many specialised Aston Martin related words as possible plus some others which have caused confusion to visitors in the past. 'O' is for ...
Oscar India

‘Oscar India’ or in AMOC speak, the AM V8 Series 4. Unveiled at the Birmingham International Motor Show in October 1978 (Oscar India = October Introduction – phonetic alphabet). Body modifications included small lip on the boot lid plus a very refined interior with walnut veneer trim. Perhaps the most highly regarded and desired example of the standard V8. The contemporary V8 Vantage also received the same body modifications.

Ogle Design

A British design consultancy company who produced a revolutionary special based on the DBS V8 in 1972, called ‘The Sotheby Special’. Also produced an alternative one-off dashboard design for a DB5.
